    The Technical Writer will work within the Partner Services Team of Dovel Technologies, a company that supports Federal Grants Management solutions to more than 18 Federal agencies through the Grants Center of Excellence (www.GrantSolutions.gov).

     Role and Responsibilities:
    Update and/or create program/projected related documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), installation instructions, training materials, test reports, meeting minutes, Visio diagrams, spreadsheets, presentations and other artifacts as necessary. Gathers, analyzes, and composes technical information. Conducts research and ensures the use of proper technical terminology. Translates technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical users. Ensures consistency, clarity, and quality in and across all types of documentation. Engages in formatting, editing, and quality assurance on own work and the work of others.
     
    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience of technical writing, technical documentation, or editing/QA role or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the following required skills and abilities
    Strong verbal and written communication skills
    Demonstrated writing proficiency for multiple audiences and in multiple modes (reports, meeting minutes, presentations, emails, technical specifications, proposals)

    •  Identify and document the functional and physical characteristics of a configuration item
    •  Make sure all documentation is to a level of detail sufficient to reproduce the system changes needed for operation, maintenance, repair and replacement

    • Designs and establishes management documentation. Authorizes the release of drawings, and software configuration changes specified by management and other functional groups

    • Assist in code migration and integration from development, test, stage, pre-production and production environments to ensure continuity throughout the incremental and Agile and Software Engineering Life Cycles (SELC)
    • Design, develop, implement and support high-quality software build systems: Introduce new techniques and technologies for new build systems and evolve existing systems
    • Evaluates asset and configuration management tools and recommends those that best meet the organization’s budget, resource, timescale and technical requirements; directly or indirectly customizes proprietary tools to produce effective asset and configuration management environments in terms of databases and software libraries, workflows and report generation
    • Conduct environment audits against deployment instructions as well as other environments
    • Maintain integrity and traceability of configuration items
    • May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards
    • May provide guidance to less experienced employees
    Qualifications and Essential Skills:
    • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of Configuration Management experience or the equivalent combination of education and training
    • Must have knowledge of DevOps concepts and as a key member of the QA team, be able and willing to drive automation solutions across Ops, DEV and testing teams
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to work within a team environment
    • Knowledge of industry recognized configuration models such as ITIL, CMMI and/or ISO; experience and ability to implement lifecycle CM processes and procedures in an diverse IT development environment
    • Experience with automated version management and tracking tools (Subversion and Bit Bucket) & Atlassian (JIRA, Fish eye, Crucible, Confluence) Tools
    • Experience creating automated dev/ops procedures using Jenkins, PuppIT, Jmanage, Ansible

    We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join the FDA Scientific Computing team, supporting the OIM Center in Reston, VA. 
     
    The QA Manager is responsible for providing clear leadership for shaping our QA efforts. This role will partner with and analysis our customer’s needs, and also be a hands-on independent contributor. The ability to refine requirements and direction with clarification questions is imperative. This role will have strong interactions with the infrastructure team and project stakeholders to establish seamless processes that promote program surveillance and quality audit.
     
    The duties will include, but not be limited to:
    • Drive planning & delivery of high-quality enterprise IT software releases.
    • Manage to plan completion of QA for each release.
    • Review project and release specific test strategy and planning documents prepared by QA team.
    • Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes.
    • Maintain and enhance working automation framework.
    • Create complex automated testing applications, procedures and guidelines.
    • Develop, document and revise automation test procedures and quality standards.
    • Assemble and lead multiple cross-functional teams to support IT application releases of varying size, complexity and duration.
    • Collaborate and manage release processes across all functions within IT and with business stakeholders.
    • Manage change control processes for the releases.
    • Continuously improve release processes.

    We are seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer for our FDA Scientific Computing program. We support the FDA and their scientists in Scientific Computing which includes but is not limited to; technical and research aspects (e.g., hardware, software, desktop support, infrastructure, virtualization all in a laboratory environment) supporting a variety of FDA Centers.

    The Senior Linux Systems Engineer will work in conjunction with the rest of the Engineering team in support of the overall FDA program, with specifics emphasis on the HPC implementation.

    • Experience working within a HPC environment, using Puppet for configuration and Set-up.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Senior HPC (High-Performance Computing) Engineer - Bethesda, MD

    We are seeking a Senior High-Performance Computing (HPC) Engineer for our FDA Scientific program.  The program supports the FDA and their scientists in Scientific Computing which includes but is not limited to technical and research aspects (e.g., hardware, software, laboratory environment) supporting the Center for Food Safety and Nutrition (CFSAN). Responsibilities include leading and directing the employees supporting the HPC Engineering directives, ensuring that work is delivered with quality and is on time with proper documentation. Additional tasking maybe required as directed by the HPC Program Technical Lead.
     
    CFSAN Scientific Computing provides support to the scientific computing community to numerous FDA centers.  The support extends from workstation support to standing up an HPC within the FDA Scientific Data Center. 
     
    The Sr. HPC Engineer duties will include, but not be limited to:
    • Work with the CFSAN HPC Technical lead and team to implement significant HPC architecture changes to support the diverse scientific disciplines within FDA. 
    • Support data center and operation logistics for assigned areas
    • Active participant in HPC community (either DoD, DHS or DoE in particular) and professional societies
    • Work with the team to develop briefings and other materials to assist with providing technical information to senior FDA management.
    • Require FDA Public trust eligibility
    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree is required, or some combination of experience/education
    • 10+ years of experience in high performance computing or similar tasks in a technical domain

    The Reporting Author is responsible for responding to the reporting needs of assigned Federal agencies. As a client facing position, this candidate will work closely with federal partners to become familiar with the reporting data models of our partner agencies and on the creation of necessary reporting.
     
    Position Responsibilities
    The Reporting Author will be accountable for the scheduled and ad-hoc reporting requests, development of technical documentation, and to provide support to our partners reporting user-base. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
